Pakistan National Council of the Arts held closing ceremony of Summer Art Classes on 5th September 2022 followed by exhibition of the students of painting classes at PNCA. Mr. Abdul Sattar Khokhar, Senior Joint Secretary National Heritage & Culture Division and Director General PNCA welcomed the guests, appreciated enthusiasm of all children to learn artistic skills. He also reaffirmed commitment of PNCA to revive it’s functions after the break of Covid 19.
The occasion was honored by Riffat Shahbaz Khalid Sidiqui who is a renowned Music Director, Script Writer, Lyricst n Producer of documentaries, puppet shows , TV commercials n plays, member of Pakistan Films Producer Associations, former Director Films of Films Censor Board, Program Manager of TV channels in Bradford, UK. He is having five decades experience in his field also co-produced music documentaries in collaboration with Directors & Producers such as Mr. Charles Faucet and Mr. Sheldon Holmes(producer director of famous series Sherlock Holmes. At present he is working on four feature films as a Director, screen play writer, Lyricst n music Director.
Syed Abbas Shah, a renowned artist & Sculptor also honored the occasion with his presence. He is also having experience of more than five decades in paintings n sculpture making. He had worked with PTV as Chief Designer, taught at National College of Arts, commissioned sculptures for United Nations & Government of Pakistan. He held a number of solo n group exhibitions all over Pakistan too.
National Puppet Theatre and Children Art Workshop conducts summer Art Classes almost every year since 2007. Due to Covid 19, the activity could not be held during 2020 n 2021.Thus year in May, PNCA announced Summer Art Classes in 4 descplines ( Violin, keyboard, guitar n paintings). The Classes were held from 13th June 2022 to 12th August 2022. Students were trained by highly experienced art teachers.The performances of the students n thier outcome in paintings is highly appreciated by the visitors and parents. The exhibition will be on display till September 7 2022.
After the performances of students on guitar & Violin, certificates were distributed among students & art teachers by Senior Joint Secretary NHCD & DG PNCA, Abdul Sattar Khokhar , Riffat Shehbaz Khalid Sidiqui (Renowned Music Director) and Syed Abbas Shah( Renowned Sculpture). The closing ceremony ended with thanks and announcement of opening of exhibition of the students of painting classes at Gallery 10.
