PM’s speech reversed India’s diplomatic gains manifold

Lahore/Islamabad_Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, while addressing the 78th UN General Assembly (UNGA) session on Friday, badly damaged India’s so-called democratic stature and reversed its diplomatic gains made during the last three decades,
 PM’s speech at the UNGA through which he highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to reinforcing the United Nations’ peace-building measures across globe. The Pakistani premier addressed almost all key issues relating to Pakistan, including plight of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, climate change and terrorists launching attacks inside Pakistan from the Afghan soil.
Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, and president of the International Faith Harmony Council, commended Prime Minister Kakar over the interpretation of Islamophobia during the UNGA session. He emphasised that the PM made a bold assertion that Pakistan, in collaboration with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), would propose a comprehensive strategy to combat Islamophobia.
This strategy includes the appointment of a special envoy, the establishment of an Islamophobia data centre, provision of legal support to victims, and implementation of an accountability mechanism to address Islamophobic crimes.
Former ambassador Najam-us-Saqib lauded the prime minister for elucidating the global scale and severity of terrorism, underscoring the imperative to confront all forms of terrorism without discrimination. This encompasses addressing the escalating threat posed by far-right extremist and fascist groups, such as Hindutva-inspired extremists, who pose a genocidal threat to India’s Muslim and Christian communities.
He commended the PM for highlighting various economic initiatives, including establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, aimed at attracting foreign investment into Pakistan. He showcased the positive impact of Pakistan’s economy on the global stage.

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq on Saturday lauded Pakistan Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar for highlighting the Kashmir issue in his speech to the UN general assembly.
The AJK PM said that Prime Minister Kakar’s landmark speech fully reflected the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Hailing Pakistan’s consistent support for the Kashmiris’ just cause, the AJK PM said in a statement that Pakistan has not only supported the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination but also championed the Kashmiris’ case effectively at every international forum.
Terming the Kashmir issue as one of the oldest issues pending on the UN agenda, the AJK Premier said that it was high time that the global community, especially the United Nations, should move beyond political rhetoric and play their much-needed role to help resolve the lingering dispute peacefully in accordance with the UNSC resolutions.

He said that the time has come that the United Nations should reciprocate positively to Pakistan’s clarion call for holding a referendum in Kashmir and implement its resolutions on Kashmir. Referring to New Delhi’s traditional intransigence, the AJK PM said that India’s perpetual denial to implement the UN resolutions has been the biggest hurdle in the way of peace in the region.
AJK PM  said that India has tried to change the disputed nature of the Kashmir dispute by revoking article 370 and 35 A on August 5 2019 but failed. The people of Occupied Kashmir, he said, have been fighting against India’s illegal occupation.
He said that Kashmiris, who have time and again rejected India’s illegal control over the territory, have been demanding the implementation of the UNSC resolutions that guaranteed the right to self-determination of the people of the region.
The AJK PM said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has rightly pointed out that lasting peace in South Asia was inescapably linked to the settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Human Rights Mushaal Mullick has said that Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has championed the Kashmir cause in the best possible manner at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

In a statement issued here Saturday, Mullick said that she was grateful to the prime minister for voicing concerns about the oppressed Kashmiris at the UNGA session.

“The prime minister has proved to be the ambassador and advocate of the Kashmiris”, she added.

Mullick said that the Kashmiris had been encouraged by the prime minister’s address in the General Assembly.

She said the innocent Kashmiris knew Pakistan as the center of their hopes for achieving their right to self-determination.

The special assistant said that Indian state terrorism had started to reach the rest of the world from the region.

“The international community has to stop India for the sake of peace,” she said, adding that according to the resolutions of the United Nations, the solution of the Kashmir issue was indispensable for regional peace.
