PML-N Resolves Internal Differences in GB, Prepares for Upcoming Elections

Gilgit-Baltistan: (Web Desk/ Our Correspondent) – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has achieved a significant breakthrough in Gilgit-Baltistan, resolving internal differences and deciding to move forward united in the upcoming elections. An important meeting, chaired by Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam, brought various PML-N factions in the region together and helped forge consensus.
During the meeting, an agreement was reached between the group led by former Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman and the faction headed by Akbar Taban and Muhammad Anwar. A large number of party leaders attended the gathering, including former Minister Muhammad Anwar.

Speaking at the occasion, Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam stated that PML-N is one and will participate in the elections under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. He emphasized that party tickets will be awarded on merit and confirmed that all internal differences within the PML-N in Gilgit-Baltistan have been fully resolved. Muqam further added that he considers himself an integral part of PML-N’s team in the region and will continue to play his role in strengthening the party.
Addressing the gathering, PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan President Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman said that the party leadership and all members are on the same page and will move forward united according to Nawaz Sharif’s vision. He stated that past differences are now behind them, and the focus will be entirely on preparing for the upcoming elections.
PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan General Secretary Akbar Taban expressed that their intentions are sincere and that the party stands completely united. He asserted that this unity will help PML-N achieve success in Gilgit-Baltistan once again.
According to sources, prior to the joint meeting, Federal Minister Amir Muqam held separate meetings with both factions, which paved the way for consensus in the main session. At the end of the meeting, under Muqam’s guidance, leaders of both groups embraced each other to symbolically demonstrate their unity.
Following the meeting, Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman and Akbar Taban jointly confirmed that all differences have been resolved. Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman will continue as party president, while Akbar Taban will remain general secretary. PML-N now aims to win the upcoming elections and resume the development trajectory in Gilgit-Baltistan that had stagnated since 2015.
