PML-N, PPP, JUI-F Agree on Judicial Reforms in Constitutional Amendment
PML-N, PPP, and JUI-F reach agreement on reforms, with plans to engage PTI for further discussions

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) are working towards building a consensus after consultations on a proposed constitutional amendment.
Speaking to the media alongside Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman remarked, “We rejected the initial draft, and even today, we stand by that rejection.”
However, Rehman confirmed that a consensus has been reached on the constitutional amendment, emphasizing that “the country and its constitution can only be saved through tough decisions.”
He further called for the amendment to introduce reforms across all sectors, saying, “Yesterday, the PPP and JUI-F were almost in agreement on the draft.”
Rehman also expressed his willingness to engage with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on the draft, stating, “I will also hold discussions with the PTI leadership in Islamabad.”
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, sharing his views, said, “The PML-N, PPP, and JUI-F have all come to an agreement on judicial reforms.” He added, “We will present the amendment in parliament at the right time. These reforms will ensure proper interpretation and defense of the constitution.” Bhutto-Zardari stressed that the PPP is committed to bringing forward judicial reforms.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, while speaking about the amendment, assured that none of the involved parties had any personal objectives tied to it. “Everything being done is for the betterment of the public,” he said.
Earlier on Wednesday, PML-N President Abdul Aleem Khan hosted a luncheon for key political figures at Jati Umra. Among the attendees were President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, who were welcomed by Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman was also present at the luncheon.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, alongside Zardari’s team, which included Naveed Qamar, Murtaza Wahab, and Punjab Governor Saleem Haider, also attended the gathering. Rehman was accompanied by JUI-F Senator Kamran Murtaza and was warmly greeted by both Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz.
