Lahore/KHAIRPUR _While vehemently condemning the terrorist activities in Bannu and other areas, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday vowed to crush any attempt aiming to spread chaos in Pakistan through terrorism,
In a statement, the prime minister said that terrorism was a sensitive issue of national security, adding that collective thinking and an action plan were needed [to control terrorism].
“The state will not bow down to any terrorist group or organisation. Terrorists will be dealt with according to the Constitution and law,” he affirmed.
“The federal government will also address foreign facilitation to the terrorists and the sanctuaries of them. The entire nation will end terrorism along with its brave forces,” he vowed.
The prime minister also paid tribute to the spirit and determination of the forces fighting against terrorism. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and directed best treatment facilities for them.
“The sacrifices of the martyrs will not be allowed to go in vain. Operations Radd-ul Fasaad and Zarb-e-Azb were important measures to end terrorism. The great sacrifices of the officers and jawans of the armed forces, police, rangers and other law enforcement agencies cannot be forgotten,” he averred.
“Maintaining law and order is primarily the responsibility of the provinces, but the federal government cannot turn a blind eye to serious problems. We will work together with the provinces to end terrorism,” he added.
“The National Action Plan (NAP) will be fully implemented to end terrorism. Increasing the capacity and efficiency of provincial governments is important in the eradication of terrorism,” he pointed out.
“The federal government will assist in improving the professional capacity of counter-terrorism forces and departments in the provinces,” he added.
“We will work on the reconstruction of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). All the needs of our forces will be met, and they will be supplied modern weapons and provided professional training,” he reaffirmed vow.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that gifts worths millons from friendly countries were sold while saying, he would have appreciated Pakistan Tehreek-i-Inasf ( PTI ) chief Imran Khan had the flood affectees supported through this money.
Taking a jibe at the former premier he said, even the watch having Khana Kaaba model was sold and money was used for political purposes.
The PM added that he would raise the issues of flood-hit people at the Geneva conference to be held In January.
“The rehabilitation of the people affected by the flooding is a national responsibility and billions are required for this purpose,” said the PM in his visit to a village of Khairpur inundated by flood.
Highlighting the suffering of people, he said that almost 20 million people deserved aid and almost nine million children needed medical support and food.
The premier said he had never seen any flood with this intensity because this time whole cities and villages were destroyed.
He further stated the level of destruction caused by the flood was indescribable and (any) resources could not have been enough to tackle the challenges, however the affected people would not be left alone and they would be supported.
Earlier PM was briefed by Chairman National Disaster Management Authority ( NDMA ) on the ongoing efforts to rescue the flood-sticken people who applauded the work of NDMA and directed for speedy work to provide relief.
