PM Shehbaz Visits ISI Headquarters for Strategic Security Briefing Amid Rising Tensions with India

Tarar Reaffirms Pakistan’s Unwavering Support for Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, visited the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) headquarters on Tuesday to receive a detailed briefing on the regional security landscape, particularly in light of escalating tensions along Pakistan’s eastern border.

The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The briefing focused on traditional military challenges, hybrid warfare, and the evolving threat from terrorist proxies, with particular emphasis on India’s aggressive posturing following the Pahalgam False Flag Operation.

Officials reviewed Pakistan’s current response strategies and were briefed on the range of national security measures being implemented to safeguard sovereignty. The meeting comes amid heightened regional volatility, with Islamabad closely monitoring New Delhi’s recent provocations along the Line of Control (LoC).

Earlier, the National Assembly convened a special session to address the aftermath of the Pahalgam incident and India’s digital aggression, during which Indian authorities reportedly blocked Pakistani online accounts. Lawmakers unanimously condemned the actions, vowing that any future Indian misadventure would be met with a robust national response.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, addressing the Assembly, revealed that Pakistan had responded to India’s digital restrictions by strategically airing a patriotic military anthem on Indian YouTube channels through targeted geotagging and ad purchases. He described the move as a successful effort to reclaim the narrative and assert Pakistan’s digital and diplomatic presence globally.

Minister Tarar also reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance on the Kashmir issue, declaring, “Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan,” and reaffirmed the country’s moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people amid ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

He added that Pakistan continues to be a frontline state in the fight against terrorism, having paid a heavy price in lives and resources. Tarar further claimed that Islamabad possesses credible evidence of Indian state-sponsored terrorism, including the targeted killings of Sikh activists abroad.
