Federal Delegation Accompanies PM To Northern Region

GILGIT: (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Gilgit on a one-day official visit aimed at reviewing development projects and governance matters in the region.

Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister was warmly received by Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Yaar Muhammad.

A high-level federal delegation accompanied the Prime Minister, including senior ministers such as Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Attaullah Tarar, Engineer Amir Muqam, Abdul Aleem Khan, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Advisor Rana Sanaullah, and Special Assistant Talha Barki.

During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif held separate meetings with the Governor and the Caretaker Chief Minister, where discussions focused on ongoing development schemes, administrative challenges, and the law and order situation in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate several key initiatives, including renewable solar energy projects, a Safe City system, a laptop distribution scheme for students, and youth-focused business and agricultural loan programs.

He will also lay the foundation stones of four Danish Schools in different areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, aimed at improving access to modern education in the region.
