PM Shehbaz & UAE President Pledge to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held a pivotal meeting on Sunday in Rahim Yar Khan, expressing their shared commitment to further strengthening the economic, political, and cultural ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
Sheikh Mohamed’s visit, marked by a warm welcome from PM Shehbaz, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and other senior officials, highlighted the longstanding partnership between the two nations. The discussions covered a broad spectrum of important topics, including economic collaboration, regional stability, climate change, and fostering mutual interests on the global stage.
PM Shehbaz praised the UAE’s visionary leadership and its critical role in Pakistan’s development, particularly in investment. He emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to deepen cooperation in sectors such as renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure, and skill development.
On his part, Sheikh Mohamed expressed the UAE’s strong interest in expanding collaborations with Pakistan in the mining, minerals, and agriculture sectors. He lauded Pakistan’s economic stability under PM Shehbaz’s leadership, recognizing the country’s progress and the vast potential for increased bilateral investment and cooperation.
The UAE president also reaffirmed his nation’s commitment to enhancing its partnership with Pakistan, stressing the importance of people-to-people connections and mutual prosperity. He acknowledged Pakistan’s resilience in the face of challenges and pledged continued support in humanitarian assistance and development aid.
