PM Shehbaz Sharif to meet Nawaz Sharif to discuss current political situation

The meeting will focus on strategizing the party's position on key national issues.

LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif today at his residence in Jati Umra to discuss the ongoing political situation in the country.

Sources close to the leadership confirmed that during the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz will brief his brother and party leader Nawaz Sharif about his recent visit to Saudi Arabia. He will also update Nawaz on his discussions with Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding the controversial religious seminaries bill. The meeting will focus on strategizing the party’s position on key national issues.

In addition to political matters, the two leaders will also visit the graves of their parents in Jati Umra, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz left for an eight-day official visit to China. Maryam Nawaz is the first female chief minister to visit China, and her trip has been arranged with special VIP protocol. She will visit major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong, to explore opportunities for cooperation in Information Technology (IT), healthcare, and industrial development between the two nations.

This visit marks a significant step in strengthening Pakistan-China ties, particularly in the areas of technology and industry.
