PM Shehbaz Reverses Arsa Chairman Appointment Following Murad Ali Shah’s Objections

The Prime Minister’s Office issued a notification to revoke the confirmation of Arsa Chairman’s appointment.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has revoked the notification for the appointment of Arsa Chairman, following concerns raised by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

According to details, there was a telephone conversation between Prime Minister Shabaz Sharif and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had assured to reconsider the notification of the appointment of Arsa Chairman, Zafar Mahmood, as the Chairman of Arsa.

Sindh Chief Minister had adopted the stance that the decision had already been made in the CCI meeting that the members of the provinces would select the chairman on a rotational basis.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took into account the position of Sindh Chief Minister and the Department of Irrigation. He withdrew the confirmation of Arsa Chairman’s appointment.

The Prime Minister’s Office issued a notification to revoke the confirmation of Arsa Chairman’s appointment.

It remains clear that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had appointed Zafar Mahmood as the Chairman of Arsa.

PTI unveils candidates from Punjab for Senate election

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has announced the candidates contesting for Senate election.

PTI senior leader Aslam Iqbal has disclosed the names of contesting candidates from Punjab after consultation with party leadership.

As per party sources, senior lawyer Hamid Khan, Zulfi Bukhari would vie for Senate’s general seats on PTI ticket. While, Col. Ijaz Mihas General would be PTI’s covering candidate on general seats.

PTI has nominated former advisor for accountability Brig (R) Musaddiq for technocrat seat.

Meanwhile, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid would contest the Senate election on reserved women seat.
