PM Shehbaz Praises Trump’s Efforts in Promoting Peace

'Entire nation is standing firmly behind Pakistan Armed Forces'

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday acknowledged the significant role played by U.S. President Donald Trump in helping maintain peace amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.

Speaking at an event at the Pakistan Monument to mark Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude), the Prime Minister stated:
“The entire nation stands firmly behind the Pakistan Armed Forces with unwavering strength. On May 10, millions of Pakistanis offered prayers for the success of our armed forces.”

He added: “Few in history are granted a day like this — one that is remembered for centuries.”

Referring to India, the prime minister said: “The enemy, which once claimed to be the regional hegemon of South Asia, had six of its aircraft shot down by us [Pakistan].”He continued: “The COAS informed me on the night of May 9 and 10 that India had launched missiles. He requested permission to deliver a befitting response that the enemy would remember.”

“We struck Indian airbases and they struggled to find a place to hide. The COAS called me again to report that the Pakistan Armed Forces had delivered a resounding response and now India is requesting a ceasefire.”

“Today, discussions are taking place around the world about the Pakistan Armed Forces having achieved victory,” the prime minister added.
