PM Shehbaz Pays Tribute to Armed Forces for Role in Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos

“The government and the people stand shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces,” PM Shehbaz said

QUETTA – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday lauded the armed forces of Pakistan for their exemplary role in Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to national sovereignty and integrity.

Addressing army officers at the Command and Staff College Quetta, the prime minister said, “Pakistan’s armed forces are the guardian of national sovereignty and integrity,” adding that the country not only responded to Indian aggression but decisively turned the tide.

He stated that India had targeted Pakistani civilians following the Pahalgam incident, and Pakistan’s military responded in a “befitting and strategic” manner. He praised the professionalism and resolve of the armed forces throughout the operation and credited Field Marshal General Asim Munir for his leadership, calling it a historic achievement.

“The government and the people stand shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces,” PM Shehbaz said, reaffirming national unity and resilience.

The prime minister also extended a warm welcome to visiting military officers from friendly nations, noting that their presence reflects Pakistan’s strong diplomatic and defense relations.

On the economic front, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the successful negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had helped stabilize Pakistan’s economy. However, he stressed the need for structural reforms at the grassroots level to ensure long-term, sustainable growth.

“The economy is moving in the right direction due to the tireless efforts of the government,” he noted, underlining the progress made despite regional tensions.
