Leaders Highlight World Governments Summit's Role in Shaping Global Governance

Abu Dhabi — Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, arrived in Abu Dhabi for a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Accompanied by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, the Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The visit comes as part of Pakistan’s participation in the World Governments Summit 2025, held in Dubai under the theme Shaping Future Governments.
During a significant meeting at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Sharif and Sheikh Mohamed discussed avenues to strengthen the relationship between the two nations. Their discussions centered on enhancing economic, trade, and development cooperation, alongside shared goals for sustainable growth and prosperity.
The leaders also highlighted the pivotal role of the World Governments Summit in identifying global governance trends. The summit serves as a platform for presenting strategies to prepare governments worldwide for future transformations and challenges. Both Pakistan and the UAE emphasized the importance of leveraging these global shifts to ensure development and progress for their peoples.

Additionally, the two sides engaged in talks on key regional and international issues, with a strong focus on the ongoing situation in the Middle East. Both leaders reiterated the need for intensified international efforts toward achieving lasting peace in Palestine, supporting the two-state solution as the key to ensuring long-term regional security and stability.
Prime Minister Sharif’s visit to the UAE further reflects the deepening ties between the two nations, with a shared commitment to building a brighter, more prosperous future through collaboration and mutual support.
