PM Shehbaz Strengthens Economic and Strategic Ties During SCO Summit in China

Pakistan – China – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for Tianjin, China, on Saturday for an official visit. He is traveling with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Adviser Tariq Fatemi. This visit is very important for Pakistan as it aims to strengthen friendship and economic ties with China and other countries in the region.

During his visit, Shehbaz Sharif will attend the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit. At the summit, he will share Pakistan’s views on peace, regional trade, connectivity, sustainable growth, and the challenges of climate change. He will also hold side meetings with world leaders to promote cooperation and stability in the region.

After the SCO sessions, the Prime Minister will go to Beijing to attend the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance. In Beijing, he will meet President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. These talks will focus on building a stronger Pakistan-China partnership, especially in trade, investment, and infrastructure development.

A big part of this visit is economic diplomacy. Shehbaz Sharif will lead the second Business-to-Business (B2B) Investment Conference and meet top Chinese business leaders. He will invite companies to invest in Pakistan and take advantage of business-friendly policies. He will also highlight opportunities in energy, agriculture, technology, and infrastructure under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Prime Minister Calls for Dams After Punjab Flooding

Before the summit, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar called Pakistan-China relations an “iron friendship,” which is key to peace and prosperity in the region. Speaking on CGTN’s Global South Voices, Dar said the SCO is an important platform for security, trade, energy, and connectivity, especially in today’s changing world.
