PM Shehbaz Invited to Join US Gaza Peace Board
akistan Welcomes Invitation to Join Gaza Peace Initiative
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The global community has once again acknowledged Pakistan’s consistent and principled position on the Palestine issue, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has received an invitation to join the proposed Gaza Peace Board.
The invitation comes amid ongoing international discussions surrounding the Gaza Peace Plan (GPP) proposed by US President Donald Trump, which focuses on ending the war in Gaza, restoring governance, facilitating reconstruction, and establishing long-term administrative and diplomatic mechanisms for post-ceasefire stability.
Under this initiative, invitations have been extended to leaders of various countries to become part of the proposed Peace Board and to contribute to collective efforts aimed at humanitarian relief, restoration of essential infrastructure, internal stability, and a sustainable political solution. Pakistan’s inclusion in this process reflects growing international confidence in its diplomatic credibility and responsible global role.
Analysts view this development as a significant diplomatic achievement for Pakistan, underscoring the effectiveness of its consistent foreign policy, timely diplomatic engagement, and coordinated civil-military efforts aligned with national interests. The invitation signals recognition of Pakistan as a mature, solution-oriented stakeholder in global peace initiatives.
Pakistan awaits US response on Gaza stabilization force
Pakistan’s potential participation is not rooted in bloc politics, but in its long-standing commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people—particularly the innocent civilians of Gaza—and to pursuing a just, lasting resolution in line with international law and United Nations resolutions.
Pakistan has consistently advocated for the Palestinian right to self-determination, protection of civilians, an immediate ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian assistance, and post-conflict reconstruction. This invitation offers Islamabad an opportunity to move beyond statements and play a practical, influential role in shaping decisions that directly affect the lives of Palestinians.
Participation in the Peace Board would also allow Pakistan to stand alongside the Muslim Ummah and fulfill a shared humanitarian and moral responsibility. Historically, Pakistan has never remained a silent observer on the Palestine issue, instead actively supporting the oppressed through humanitarian aid and sustained diplomatic advocacy.
Experts believe that Pakistan’s involvement in such a global platform could help safeguard Palestinian interests while promoting transparency and fairness in relief and rehabilitation efforts. Overall, the invitation represents an honour, a mark of international trust, and a serious responsibility—one that Pakistan is expected to approach with its traditional commitment to justice, humanity, and peace.
