PM Shehbaz Backs Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan for Regional Stability

Shehbaz Praises US Role in Gaza Peace Efforts

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed US President Donald Trump’s newly announced 20-point peace plan aimed at ending the ongoing war in Gaza and resolving the long-standing Israel-Palestine conflict. Calling the initiative a “positive step forward,” the Prime Minister emphasised that sustainable peace between Palestine and Israel is essential for broader regional stability. He reiterated that without genuine peace, political stability and economic progress across the Middle East will remain out of reach.

Shehbaz Sharif noted that President Trump has shown full commitment to supporting peace-building efforts in Gaza and expressed appreciation for this approach. He said Pakistan views constructive US involvement as critical for breaking the cycle of violence and fostering long-term solutions. He also praised the contributions of Trump’s Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, for facilitating dialogue and diplomacy.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s position on the conflict, Prime Minister Sharif stressed that the two-state solution remains the only viable path to lasting peace in the region. He argued that any resolution lacking a sovereign Palestinian state alongside Israel would be incomplete. Commending the leadership of President Trump in pushing for diplomatic progress, Sharif voiced hope that the international community would unite behind the US plan and help deliver peace, security, and prosperity to the people of the Middle East.
