PM Shehbaz Announces Cash Reward for Asia Cup–Winning Under-19 Cricket Team

PM Praises Under-19 Team, Extends World Cup Wishes

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a cash reward of Rs10 million (one crore rupees) for each player of Pakistan’s Under-19 cricket team for winning the Asia Cup.

Addressing a dinner hosted in honor of the national players, the prime minister said the team had made the entire nation proud by securing a victory that the opponents had not even imagined. He praised the players for raising Pakistan’s flag high on the international stage.

PM Shehbaz said that Pakistan was blessed with success in Bunyan-un-Marsoos and that defeating the same rival again brought further honor to the country. He lauded the team’s outstanding performance in the final against India and especially commended the efforts of Samir Munhas and Ali Raza.

The prime minister also extended his best wishes to the team for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup next month. He said the young players had made history by defeating India and expressed hope that they would continue to bring glory to Pakistan in the future.
