PM Shahbaz Sharif Vows Govt Support for Rain-Affected Citizens

PM Urges NDMA for Swift Relief and Comprehensive Disaster Response.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has pledged that the government will not leave the people alone in any circumstances. He assured that relief measures for the recent devastating rains’ affected will be completed soon, with assistance provided only to the deserving affected individuals.
In a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, a review of relief efforts for recent heavy rains was conducted. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) provided a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister regarding relief measures.
The Prime Minister instructed the NDMA to expedite joint surveys with the provinces and ensure transparent and immediate relief to the flood-affected citizens. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive action plan to deal with natural disasters and reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritizing assistance to the affected individuals.
Shahbaz Sharif stressed the importance of not leaving any affected citizen alone, asserting that assistance will be provided to each affected individual. He directed the NDMA to report on the implementation of directives issued to enhance their technical capabilities during his previous tenure.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister stated, “Recent devastating rains have left many people in distress. It is our top priority to provide government assistance to them transparently and only to the deserving affected individuals.”
The Prime Minister also directed the NDMA to complete joint surveys with the provinces, especially in Balochistan, for the verification of completely and partially damaged houses. Furthermore, detailed briefings were provided regarding the distribution of relief funds and actions taken by the federal government in response to the recent torrential rains.

Moreover, the Prime Minister was briefed on the seasonal forecasts for April to June and July to September, and preparations by the NDMA in this regard.
The meeting also informed the Prime Minister about the aid provided to the affected people in Gaza by the NDMA, with 320 tons of relief goods dispatched from October till now.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to cooperating with the provinces in dealing with natural disasters.
