Cabinet Approves Development Projects for Public Welfare

Muzaffarabad-The 29th meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, was held at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat in Muzaffarabad on January 30, 2025. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Most Senior Minister Colonel (retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, ministers, Chief Secretary Khushal Khan, Principal Secretary Zafar Mahmood Khan, and secretaries to the government.

During the meeting, the Cabinet ratified decisions from the 27th and 28th meetings and discussed 11 agenda items. Inspector General of Police Abdul Jabbar Khan briefed the Cabinet on law and order in Azad Kashmir. The Prime Minister directed the Inspector General to take strict measures to maintain law and order in the state.

Prime Minister Haq announced that Kashmir Solidarity Day will be celebrated on February 5 in a grand manner, with preparations already complete. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for Kashmiris at international forums and pledged to prioritize the protection of life and property.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the current government’s top priority is protecting the life and property of citizens. He directed officials to take all possible steps to improve the governance system, ensuring that service delivery and thrift are top priorities. He also highlighted the importance of the Social Protection Fund, a revolutionary initiative for the rights of the entitled.

Prime Minister Haq stressed the need for quality education, directing officials to take steps to fill the shortage of faculty in all educational institutions on a quota basis. He also emphasized the importance of rationalization, directing officials to prioritize it.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army for the defense of the homeland. He acknowledged the Army’s role in protecting the country and its people, ensuring the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan.

Regarding healthcare, Prime Minister Haq announced that steps have been taken for reforms in the health sector. He directed officials to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services to citizens, prioritizing their well-being and health.

The Prime Minister also announced that the government has launched several development projects for the welfare of the people. He directed officials to ensure the timely completion of these projects, providing all possible resources for their successful implementation.

In addition, Prime Minister Haq emphasized the importance of expanding the tax net to increase revenue. He directed officials to take measures to broaden the tax base, ensuring that all eligible individuals and businesses contribute to the state’s revenue.

The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s efforts to provide relief to citizens, including the provision of cheap flour and subsidies on electricity. He directed officials to continue providing these relief measures, ensuring that citizens benefit from these initiatives.

Overall, the 29th meeting of the AJK Cabinet focused on key issues related to governance, law and order, education, healthcare, and development. Prime Minister Haq’s directives emphasized the importance of prioritizing citizen welfare, improving governance, and ensuring the timely completion of development projects.
