Canada-(Special Correspondent): Customs officials at New Islamabad Airport intercepted a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) steward arriving from Canada, seizing 16 luxury iPhones hidden in his belongings during a routine inspection.
The steward, who had traveled on a tourist visa, was found attempting to bring in the smartphones without declaration. Customs officers took the employee into custody for further legal proceedings. Although the steward was traveling privately, PIA management responded swiftly, issuing him a show-cause notice.
A spokesperson for PIA emphasized that the airline has a strict policy against unauthorized actions by staff and will not tolerate illegal conduct.
