PHF band three plyers for seeking asylum in Europe
Rana Mujahid Ali further said that the three players wrote letters apologizing for participating in the camp.
LAHORE: Three players of the Pakistan hockey team and the team’s physiotherapist have reportedly applied for political asylum in Europe.
While holding an emergency press conference in Lahore, PHF Secretary Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali revealed that three national hockey players and a physiotherapist went to Poland with the team but did not return home. It is said that he has applied for political asylum abroad.
He said that the three players were invited to the camp to prepare for the Asian Champions Trophy. Among the players involved are Murtaza Yaqoob, Ehtesham Aslam and Abdul Rehman.
Rana Mujahid Ali further said that the three players wrote letters apologizing for participating in the camp.
According to reports, they travelled abroad without NOCs, leading to a life ban on the three athletes and physiotherapist Waqas with the approval of Congress.

Secretary PHF further said that he will write to the Home Ministry for further action in this regard. The overseas players were part of the Karachi camp before the Azlan Shah Cup.
