PHC grants Imaan Mazari, husband protective bail in dispute.

Court grants couple protective bail following a dispute with bar leaders, allowing them to approach the relevant court.

Peshawar – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – The Peshawar High Court gave rights activist Imaan Mazari and her husband, Hadi Chattha, protective bail on Tuesday. This happened three days after they were charged by police. The case came from a disagreement with the leader of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association.

Police filed a case under anti-terror laws. The bar association claimed its leader was attacked by a group of lawyers, including Mazari and her husband. It was also said that the group shouted slogans against state institutions.

The protest that led to the case was about the suspension of a judge from his work. The lawyers were demonstrating at the Islamabad High Court to show their opposition.

Judge Justice Syed Mohammad Attique Shah led the hearing. He granted the couple bail and told them to appear before a court in Islamabad by October 9. During the hearing, the judge noted that the couple rarely visits the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.

Mazari’s lawyer stated that she is a strong supporter for the people of KP and Balochistan. Imaan Mazari is also known for being critical of authorities. She recently filed complaints against a senior judge, which she says is due to sexist remarks.

Separately, she and her husband also face charges for their alleged activities on social media.
