PFF Seeks FIFA Support to Boost Football Infrastructure
Pakistan Football Federation Plans FIFA-Backed Stadium, Youth Leagues
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk)- The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is seeking support from FIFA to enhance football infrastructure across the country, focusing on attracting foreign investment rather than relying on government funding.
PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani revealed that two mini-pitches have already been delivered to Islamabad and Lahore, while the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will provide two additional training pitches. He emphasized that Jinnah Stadium does not meet AFC standards, highlighting the urgent need for international-standard venues to host domestic and international matches.

The federation plans to build Pakistan’s first FIFA-backed stadium and launch football leagues at the district, provincial, and national levels, including a women’s league, aiming to emulate the success of the Pakistan Super League in cricket.
In a move to promote youth engagement and mental health, PFF will collaborate with UN Youth and the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, introducing initiatives like “Football for Schools”, distributing over 1,000 footballs, and reviving school-level football competitions to discover young talent.
Gilani also praised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for its support, highlighting collaboration between cricket and football as a way to strengthen sports development in Pakistan.
