Petrol prices in Pakistan may increase again starting Sep16th

Here is what you need to know about the upcoming change in fuel costs.

Pakistan – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) -Get ready for higher fuel costs in Pakistan. Prices for petrol and diesel are expected to go up starting September 16th. This change is proposed to last for the next fifteen days.

The planned price hike affects all main fuel types. This includes petrol used in cars, diesel for trucks and buses, as well as kerosene and light diesel oil.

The oil industry has shared its plan for the new rates. They suggest the following increases per liter:

  • Petrol: Up by Rs 1.54

  • High-Speed Diesel: Up by Rs 4.79

  • Kerosene: Up by Rs 3.60

  • Light Diesel Oil: Up by Rs 3.68

It is important to note that this plan is a first draft. It does not include any government taxes or additional charges. The final price could be different.

What happens next? The oil regulator, OGRA, will send this plan to the government on September 15th. The final decision to say yes or no rests with the Prime Minister.

After the Prime Minister’s approval, the Finance Ministry will make it official. They will announce the new prices that everyone across the country must follow.

Right now, the price of petrol is Rs 264.61 per liter. Diesel is being sold at Rs 269.99 per liter. These rates have been in place since the start of September. Drivers can use online tools to find the closest fuel station and check exact prices there.
