Peshawar Schools Shut Down Over Safety Fears as Mobile Networks Disrupt
Several private schools in Peshawar announced closures today, citing the city’s unstable political situation as the primary reason. Partial disruptions to mobile phone networks were also reported.
Parents of students from the affected schools were notified through WhatsApp messages from school administrators about the closures.
The shutdown impacted schools in areas such as Hayatabad, Nasir Bagh Road, and University Road.
School owners explained that the decision to close was driven by concerns over public safety and security in the city. The partial mobile network disruption added to the inconvenience.
Meanwhile, a three-day jirga is scheduled to begin in Jamrud today. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has been authorized to engage in talks with the jirga in an effort to address security concerns.
