Peshawar High Court Cuts Summer Break to Boost Case Disposal

PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court has decided to slash its annual summer vacation from two months to just one in a bold move aimed at expediting justice delivery. The decision, announced by Additional Registrar Mamreez Khan Khalil, comes as part of efforts to clear pending cases swiftly.

Under the new directive, the usual month-long break in July has been eliminated to ensure continuous court proceedings. Special benches will be set up throughout July specifically to address backlog in civil cases, prioritizing swift resolution.

Chief Justice and other judges of Peshawar High Court are committed to enhancing judicial efficiency, viewing reduced vacations as a vital step towards timely justice for all. Concurrent efforts to digitize court systems will further empower citizens to access case information conveniently through the court’s website.

SC orders closure of Monal, other restaurants in National Park

Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday ordered closure of all restaurants situated in the National park including Monal.

The court directed that all restaurants within the National Park must be completely shut down within three months.

If any lease is intended to be granted outside the National Park, the affected restaurants should be given priority, the court stated.

Commercial activities cannot be allowed in the National Park, emphasized the Supreme Court.
