Peshawar High Court Bars Forced Repatriation of Afghan Musicians

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has intervened to prevent the forced repatriation of Afghan musicians who sought asylum in Pakistan. The court heard the application filed by Afghan musicians yesterday, where concerns over their safety in Afghanistan were highlighted.

Today, the Peshawar High Court issued a written order directing authorities not to deport the petitioners back to Afghanistan until the next hearing. The court appointed Amir Javed Advocate as a judicial assistant to oversee the proceedings, emphasizing the gravity of the issue at hand.
In compliance with the court’s directive, copies related to the case will be provided to the judicial assistant for thorough review.

The judicial intervention marks a pivotal step in safeguarding the rights of Afghan musicians seeking refuge in Pakistan amidst ongoing regional tensions.
