PESHAWAR: Terrorist Attack on Peshawar’s Federal Constabulary Headquarters Foiled; Three Suicide Bombers Killed, Three FC Personnel Martyred
A major terrorist attack on the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar was successfully foiled on Monday after security forces killed all three suicide bombers involved. However, three FC personnel were martyred during the exchange of fire.
Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr. Mian Saeed confirmed the attack, stating that it occurred at 8:10 am. Following the assault, Sunehri Masjid Road was closed to traffic and vehicles were diverted toward Saddar Road.
According to CCPO Saeed, one suicide bomber detonated himself at the main gate, while two others entered the FC headquarters. FC personnel engaged both attackers in a gunfight, managing to eliminate them before they could inflict further damage.
“The FC personnel bravely confronted the terrorists and successfully thwarted the suicide attack,” CCPO Saeed said.
Deputy Commandant FC Javed Iqbal also confirmed that all three attackers were neutralized, adding that three FC officials embraced martyrdom while fighting the terrorists with exemplary courage.
Hospital officials reported that five people were injured, including two FC personnel and three civilians. All injured individuals have been shifted to the hospital and are stated to be in stable condition.

Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and a clearance operation is underway.
BRT Service Temporarily Suspended
Following the attack, TransPeshawar temporarily suspended the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service on the main corridor due to security concerns. However, feeder route services remain operational.
Prime Minister’s Condemnation
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack, praising the timely action of security forces which, he said, prevented a much larger tragedy. He directed authorities to ensure immediate medical treatment for the injured and prayed for their swift recovery.
Security forces continue to sweep the area as investigations into the attack proceed.
