ISLAMABAD: American attempts to mediate peace between Thailand and Cambodia have so far been unsuccessful, with fighting continuing despite a new ceasefire agreement announced by President Donald Trump.

The latest clashes have resulted in the deaths of four Thai soldiers, bringing the total fatalities since Monday to 14. In response, Cambodia has closed all border crossings with Thailand, further straining relations between the neighboring countries.
