PDMA Punjab Issues Alert Ahead of Heavy Rain
PDMA Punjab warns heavy rain and snowfall; citizens and tourists advised to stay alert and follow safety precautions immediately.
PDMA – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab has issued a rain alert as a western weather system is set to enter the province starting today.
The PDMA warned that hilly areas, including Murree and Galiyat, are likely to experience heavy snowfall and rain from January 20 to 23.
Additionally, several districts across Punjab—including Lahore, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Multan, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur divisions—are expected to see rainfall during this period.

PDMA Director-General Irfan Ali Kathia directed the local government department, health department, Rescue 1122, police, forest, C&W, tourism, and transport departments to remain alert during the rainy season.
The PDMA DG advised citizens to avoid travelling during the rainy season. He further advised tourists to adopt precautionary measures in Murree during snowfall and rain.

Irfan Ali Kathia said that many Facilitation Centers are established for tourists in different locations of Murree.
He advised citizens to contact the Helpline 1129 in case of any emergency.
