PCB Files Complaint Over Controversial DRS Decision

PCB Lodges Complaint Over Disputed DRS Call Against Bangladesh

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged a formal complaint following a controversial Decision Review System (DRS) moment during the third One Day International against Bangladesh national cricket team.

According to a cricket website, Pakistan’s team management raised the issue with match referee Naeem Al-Rasheed regarding a review taken by Bangladesh in the final over of the match. The complaint centers on the timing of the review and the procedures followed by the on-field umpire.

PCB Asked to Probe Babar Fakhar Injury Claims

During the fifth delivery of the last over, the umpire initially called a ball from Rashad Hossain wide. However, Bangladesh’s captain opted for a review after the replay had already appeared on the stadium’s big screen.

At that moment, Pakistan required 12 runs from the final two balls to secure victory. Following the review, the umpire overturned the wide decision, which meant Pakistan then needed 12 runs from just one delivery to win the game.

Pakistan’s management argued that a review should not be allowed once the replay has already been shown on the big screen. They highlighted this procedural concern in their complaint submitted to the match referee.

The PCB has not publicly stated what specific action it expects from the referee. However, sources suggest the board may seek an official explanation or acknowledgment of the alleged error.

Earlier in the second ODI, another tense moment occurred when Salman Ali Agha was given run out after stepping out of his crease to return the ball. The incident led to a heated exchange between him and Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
