PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Says Govt Will Decide World Cup
Naqvi Says Govt Will Decide on T20 World Cup; No Progress Since May 10
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has stated that the decision on Pakistan’s participation in the T20 World Cup will be made by the Government of Pakistan.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Naqvi said that the PCB is ultimately answerable to the government rather than the ICC, and the final decision regarding World Cup participation rests with the Prime Minister. He added that the Prime Minister is currently out of the country, and once the government provides its decision, the PCB is ready with Plan A, B, and C.

Naqvi also commented on Bangladesh’s situation, saying that they are being treated unfairly and should be included in the T20 World Cup. He emphasized that Bangladesh is an equal member of the ICC and, just as India may have been favored in dealings with Pakistan, Bangladesh should also receive fair treatment.
He criticized what he called a “double standard,” asserting that no country can dictate terms to another. Pakistan will maintain its stance if any such situation arises.
Naqvi further said that he cannot go into details at this time but will provide them when necessary. Regarding a previous decision on May 10, he mentioned that nothing has progressed since then.
