PCB Approves First-Ever Inter-Collegiate Ramadan T20 Cricket Cup in Pakistan
Umpires for the matches will be selected from the PCB’s panel of umpires.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has approved the organization of an Inter-Collegiate Ramadan T20 Cricket Cup for the first time in Pakistan’s history.
The tournament will take place in three cities – Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad – from March 22 to April 8. Thirty colleges will participate in the Inter-Collegiate Ramadan T20 Cricket Cup.
In Lahore, the tournament will commence on March 22, while matches in Islamabad and Karachi will begin on March 23.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi expressed his belief that the Inter-Collegiate Ramadan T20 Cricket Cup will provide a platform for emerging talent and contribute to the promotion of cricket. He emphasized the importance of organizing such tournaments to encourage skill development and passion for the sport.
PCB’s Director Domestic Abdullah Khurram Niazi stated that the tournament’s organization aligns with Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi’s vision. He expressed confidence that the tournament would unearth hidden talents.
Each city will have a total of ten teams competing in the tournament. The teams will be divided into two groups, with the top team from each group advancing to the final. During the league stage, each team will play four matches, resulting in a total of 21 matches per city. Each team will consist of 14 players and three reserve players, along with three officials.
The tournament’s regulations include an age limit, with players born on or after September 1, 2000 eligible to participate. Additionally, players must be bona fide students of the respective colleges to qualify for participation.
Umpires for the matches will be selected from the PCB’s panel of umpires.
A cash prize of five lakh rupees will be awarded to the winning team from each city, while runners-up will receive prizes totaling one and a half lakh rupees.

During the tournament, PCB selectors will monitor players’ performances closely, offering them opportunities for further development.
Matches in Islamabad will be held at the Muslim Cricket Ground from March 23 to April 3, with the final expected to take place in the evening on April 3.
Matches in Lahore will be played at LCCA Ground, starting from March 22, with the final scheduled for April 8.
Karachi matches will take place at Eidgah Ground Nazimabad and IBA Karachi University Ground from March 23 to April 4. The final match will be played at Eidgah Ground Nazimabad, with the first ball expected to be bowled at 7:30 PM.
