Pakistan announce squad as Babar and Shaheen return for exciting home T20I series against Australia in Lahore this month ahead
Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 16-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Australia, set to be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The matches are scheduled for January 29, January 31, and February 1, with each game starting at 4pm (PKT).
Star players Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi return to the T20I setup after sitting out the recent away series against Sri Lanka. Shadab Khan will continue his comeback journey and lead a strong spin attack alongside Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, and Usman Tariq.
The Pakistan squad, along with the support staff, is expected to assemble in Lahore on Saturday, January 24, and will begin training for the series the very next day.
Australia are set to arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday, 28 February and will play just their second series in the format on Pakistan soil after a solitary T20I in April 2022 at Gaddafi Stadium.
