ECP allows Sindh govt to transfer 31 police officers,

ISLAMABAD– The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) on Tuesday announced a nationwide court strike on Sept 9.

Pakistan Bar Council’s Hasan Raza Pasha said that due to inflation, the life of the common man had become miserable.

The president of the country should give a date for holding general elections in 90 days without the consultation of anyone.

Pasha said: “Our demand is that the perks and privileges of all should be abolished.

“They should be made to pay their bills of electricity, petrol and gas not from the national treasury but from their own pocket. Lawyers Protection Bill should be fully implemented,” he said.

The Pakistan Bar Council executive chairman further said the lawyers demanded that the illegal raids on the houses of lawyers should be ended as the lawyers use their legal right to present their client’s position in court.

“Prompt action should be taken against the judges against whom references have been filed. We demand that the CJP-designate Qazi Faez Isa take immediate action on the references,” he said.

“Under Article 48 of the Constitution, it is the power of the President to give the date of the elections and the general election have to be announced by the President of Pakistan. And the elections should be held within 90 days in any case,” he concluded.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has allowed the postings and transfers of 31 police officers of Sindh on the request of the provincial caretaker government,

In this regard, the ECP issued a notification, according to which of grade 21 officer Khadim Hussain was appointed as Additional IG Karachi, Syed Asad Raza as DIG South Zone and Asim Khan as DIG West Zone and Ghulam Azfar as DIG East Zone.

Tariq Razak has been approved to be posted as DIG Hyderabad Range and Tanveer Alam as DIG Mirpur Khas Range.

Pervez Ahmed Chandio was approved to be posted as DIG Police Shaheed Benazirabad Range, Abdul Hameed Khoso as DIG Sukkur Range and Javed Sinharo as DIG Police Larkana Range.

Imran Qureshi as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) District South Karachi Range, Amjad Hayat SSP District City Karachi Range, Asif Muhammad Arif Aslam SSP District Kemari Range, Mazhoor Ali SSP District West Karachi Range, Faisal Abdullah Chachad SSP District Center Karachi Range, Syed Irfan Ali Bahadur SSP District East Karachi Range, Tariq Elahi Mastoi SSP District Malir Karachi Range, Hasan Sardar Ahmad Khan SSP District Korangi and Amjad Ahmed Sheikh SSP District Hyderabad have been appointed.

Abraiz Ali Abbasi District Tando Aliyar, Sikim Shah SP District Tando Mohammad Khan, Noorul Haque Rand SP District Matiari, Mohammad Tariq Nawaz SP Jamshoro, Shabbir Ahmed Sethar SSP District Dadu have been approved for appointment.

Ali Baksh SSP District Thatta, Shehla Qureshi SP District Sajawal, Qamar Raza Jaskani SP District Badin, Haider Raza SSP District Shaheed Benazirabad, Capt (R) Saddam Hussain SSP District Sanghar, Abid Ali Baloch SP District Nowshehru Feroze, Adil Memon SSP District Mirpur Khas, Ali Mardan Khoso SP District Tharparkar, Abdul Khaliq SP District Umarkot appointed.
