Pat Cummins Makes History with Back-to-Back Hat-Tricks in T20 World Cup
ST VINCENT’S: Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins has etched his name in the annals of cricket history by claiming a hat-trick for the second consecutive match in the ICC T20 World Cup.
During Australia’s Super Eight match against Afghanistan, Cummins sent Karim Jannat, Rashid Khan, and Gulbuddin Naib back to the pavilion, all caught out by the fielders.
This remarkable feat follows Cummins’ earlier hat-trick against Bangladesh just days ago.
Cummins now joins an elite club of seven players who have achieved a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup, becoming the second Australian bowler after Brett Lee to accomplish this milestone in the tournament.
Notably, despite Cummins’ exceptional performance, Australia suffered a 21-run defeat to Afghanistan, marking Afghanistan’s first-ever victory against Australia in any format of the game.
