Paris Fashion Week Shines Despite War Tensions
Paris Fashion Week Continues Amid Middle East Conflict
PARIS: (Web Desk) – Paris Fashion Week continued as planned on Tuesday, moving ahead with glamour and star power despite the geopolitical tension stemming from the Middle East conflict.
Celebrities including singer and designer Pharrell Williams, acclaimed French actress Isabelle Adjani and Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar were among the high-profile guests attending the latest show by Christian Dior. The event, staged in the Tuileries Gardens in central Paris, drew socialites, editors and influencers from around the world.
Pascal Morand, executive president of the FHCM haute couture federation, confirmed there would be “no cancellations and no modifications” to the official schedule. Organisers said they remained in close contact with authorities while monitoring developments.
Irish designer Jonathan Anderson unveiled his second collection for Dior since taking the creative helm last year. The autumn/winter showcase was inspired by Claude Monet’s iconic “Water Lilies,” with a glass-covered runway stretching over a pond to mirror the artistic theme.

Fashion critics praised the presentation for blending Dior’s heritage with a lighter, more nature-inspired aesthetic.
Meanwhile, Yves Saint Laurent delivered a bold statement under creative director Anthony Vaccarello. The collection featured sharp tuxedos for women and dramatic dark lace designs. Among those in attendance were actress Charlotte Gainsbourg and K-pop star Rose, while supermodel Bella Hadid walked the runway.
Vaccarello, marking a decade at the fashion house, described the tuxedo silhouettes as expressing freedom and ease, highlighting his enduring fascination with lace in minimalist colour palettes.
The week continues with upcoming shows from Courrèges, Balmain, Dries van Noten, Stella McCartney and Tom Ford, followed by Belgian designer Pieter Mulier’s final show for Alaïa before his move to Versace.
