The winners of the ICC Player of the Month awards will be determined by a combination of global fan voting and an expert panel.

Dubai — Pakistan’s explosive opener Muneeba Ali has been nominated for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for August, following her match-winning century against Ireland. She joins Orla Prendergast of Ireland and Iris Zwilling of the Netherlands on the women’s shortlist, which celebrates outstanding T20I performances in Europe.

Muneeba made headlines by smashing an unbeaten 100 off 68 balls in the third T20I against Ireland — only the second century ever scored by a Pakistani woman in T20 internationals. Her innings helped Pakistan seal a commanding eight-wicket victory and end the series on a high note. Over three matches, Muneeba amassed 132 runs at an impressive average of 66.00.

Ireland’s Orla Prendergast, who was named Player of the Series in the same series, is also in contention. The 23-year-old all-rounder tallied 144 runs and four wickets against Pakistan and continued her strong form in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, ending the month with 244 runs at 48.80 and seven wickets.

The Netherlands’ Iris Zwilling completed the trio of nominees after a dominant bowling performance during the Europe Qualifier. Zwilling claimed 10 wickets in six matches at an average of 10.70 and an economy of 4.65, with standout spells against Germany and Italy.
