Pakistan’s IT exports climb to $2.61 billion first seven months
Pakistan’s ICT sector grows strongly, earning $2.61 billion in seven months, boosting jobs, freelancers, and foreign exchange earnings.
Pakistan IT Sector – (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s ICT export earnings grew by 19.78% year-on-year, reaching $2.61 billion in the first seven months of the current fiscal year ending June 2026. This marks a rise from $2.18 billion during the same period last year, the Ministry of Information Technology reported on Wednesday.
The ministry highlighted that Pakistan’s IT and IT-enabled services sector has become one of the fastest-growing sources of foreign revenue. The sector now generates over $3 billion annually and provides employment to around one million freelancers, in addition to formal software companies.
Monthly exports also expanded, with ICT services exports reaching $374 million in January 2026, up 19.5 percent from $313 million a year earlier.
