Pakistan’s Defence in Strong Hands, Says Information Minister
Tarar stated that development projects providing basic facilities in the constituency are being completed
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar addressed a large public gathering in Lahore on Sunday, reaffirming that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership has always remained committed to public service. He said the government is fulfilling the promises made to the people and continues to actively engage with the public.
Tarar stated that development projects providing basic facilities in the constituency are being completed, adding that PML-N has laid a strong foundation of progress across the country. “From Punjab to the rest of Pakistan, you will see the name of PML-N on major development projects,” he said. He credited former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for consistently promoting politics of development and national progress.
Criticising the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the minister said the province has seen over 12 years of rule by the same political party yet remains deprived of meaningful development. He said the provincial administration failed to build even a single major hospital and “turned KP into ruins.” He added that PML-N, in contrast, established major projects such as the Punjab Forensic Science Agency.

Tarar strongly criticised the founder of PTI, calling him responsible for economic destruction and corruption, including the alleged 190-million-pound scandal. He accused the previous government of undermining issues like Kashmir and Palestine and failing to confront India diplomatically. He further alleged that PTI’s social media accounts are running misleading propaganda against state institutions from India and Afghanistan.
Praising Pakistan’s armed forces, Tarar said the military gave India a decisive and historic defeat in the May 6–7 conflict, adding that the world acknowledges Pakistan Army’s capabilities. He commended Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his courageous leadership and said the Pakistan Air Force, under Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar, downed Indian aircraft—an event witnessed globally.
He termed the attacks of May 9 and the vandalism of martyrs’ monuments as unforgivable crimes. Tarar also criticised PTI for writing letters to the IMF seeking to block assistance for Pakistan.
“Pakistan exists, and so do we. Our defence lies in the hands of a strong army led by Field Marshal Asim Munir,” he said, expressing confidence that Pakistan will continue to progress and that elements spreading instability will fail.
