Lahore: (Staff Reporter) The session ‘Pakistani Writing Beyond Western Gaze’ is moderated by Bilal Tanveer who is a novelist and translator. Mira Sethi who is writer and actor. Dur-e-Aziz Amina is also in session who is author of the book ‘American Fever’.
Furthermore talking about Western gaze, the session discusses about performativity when our writing performs for an implied western audience which has its own preconceptions about the non-western world that shapes the writing as well its performance.
On the other hand the issue about knowledge production about nonwestern world which has its origin in colonialism and imperialism.
