Islamabad (Web Desk) — Young Pakistani rower Rayyan Imran has delivered a stellar performance at the Dutch International Youth Regatta 2025, winning a gold medal in the Open Men’s Double Sculls and a silver medal in the Quads, bringing pride and recognition to Pakistan on the global sports stage.
Imran’s triumph is being hailed as a major breakthrough not only in his personal career but also for the sport of rowing in Pakistan — a discipline that is still gaining traction in the country.
Reflecting on his achievements, Rayyan stated, “This is not only a big milestone for me in my rowing career but also a big milestone for rowing in Pakistan.”
Competing against elite young rowers from around the world, the 2025 regatta showcased Rayyan’s determination, skill, and potential. The young athlete has previously represented Pakistan in prestigious events across Vienna, Lithuania, and the Maldives.
“I’ve been rowing for many years and have participated in regattas all over the world,” he said. “I feel that rowing is a sport that many kids can do. It’s good for them, and it’s a very big sport on the international stage, which we currently lack in our country.”
