Pakistani politicians condemn PM’s support for Trump Gaza deal.
Prime Minister's support for the US-led Gaza ceasefire agreement draws intense criticism from politicians and public.
Washingyon – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Pakistan’s prime minister has endorsed a new U.S. peace plan for Gaza, sparking intense debate at home. The plan, unveiled by President Trump and Israeli leader Netanyahu, aims to end the war and rebuild Gaza. While the government supports the move, many politicians, activists, and analysts at home are voicing strong criticism.
The government’s support for the plan aligns Pakistan with several other Muslim nations that have welcomed the U.S. effort. The prime minister expressed his belief that the plan could be a vital step towards lasting peace in the region.
However, this stance has triggered a powerful backlash from the public and political figures. Critics accuse the government of betraying the Palestinian cause and abandoning a long-standing national policy without a public debate. Many argue the plan, which they call a “surrender,” ignores key Palestinian rights and aspirations.
A common criticism is the plan’s vague language on Palestinian statehood, a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy for decades. Opponents also question the fairness of a plan that demands Hamas disarm but does not require an immediate, full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.

There is also strong resistance to the idea of Pakistan normalizing relations with Israel. Many see this as a moral failure, arguing that Pakistan, founded as a homeland for Muslims, has a duty to stand with Palestinians against what they term a genocide.
