Lahore-(Special Correspondent/Webdesk): Roma Michael, a Pakistani model and actress based in Lahore, has removed her viral Instagram post showcasing her bikini ramp walk from the Miss Grand International 2024 event. This decision followed a significant backlash, especially from audiences in Pakistan, where conservative attitudes towards women’s clothing and public appearances are prevalent.

Although Michael took down the video, it continued to spread across various social media platforms, sparking extensive discussions about women’s rights and representation in Pakistan. Disappointed by the negative reactions, she has expressed her concern over the situation.

This incident has reignited important conversations about the challenges women face in expressing their individuality and the need for increased empowerment and freedom of choice in the country.

Roma Michael, who is making notable strides in her career, is recognized for her bold presence. Her journey in the fashion industry began during her internship at Faces Pakistan in 2013, where a colleague encouraged her to explore modeling. This led to her first photoshoot and a wave of positive feedback on social media.

Since then, she has successfully collaborated with prestigious brands like L’Oréal Paris, Gul Ahmad, Sana Safinaz, and Bareeze, and has worked with top designers such as HSY, Nida Azwer, and Mohsin Naveed Ranjha. Roma has also participated in major fashion events like PFDC and FPW from 2016 to 2019.

In addition, she has appeared in television commercials for brands like Coca Cola, Telenor, and Kims, further establishing her as a prominent figure in the fashion and entertainment sectors. Confident in her identity, Roma emphasizes, “I know who I am, and I don’t waste a lot of time wondering who others are.”
