Pakistani Forces Kill Six Militants in Foiled Infiltration Attempt from Afghanistan

Pakistan Urges Greater Afghan Cooperation to Combat Cross-Border Terrorism

RAWALPINDI: Pakistani armed forces have once again thwarted a major infiltration attempt by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Khawarij, along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

On Thursday morning, a group of militants was detected trying to cross into Pakistani territory through the Sambaza area of Zhob district. The Pakistan military swiftly responded, engaging the militants in a confrontation that led to the neutralization of six militants. A significant cache of weapons, including explosives, was also recovered from the militants, further preventing potential attacks within Pakistan.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Pakistan in securing its border from cross-border terrorism. The Pakistani government has long called for greater cooperation from the Taliban-led Afghan government to ensure better border management and prevent Afghan soil from being used for militant activity targeting Pakistan.
