Pakistani Batter Falls Victim to Rare ‘Timed Out’ Dismissal in President’s Trophy Final
Saud Shakeel Becomes First Pakistani; He was late to arrive on the crease
In a rare and unwanted record, Saud Shakeel became the first Pakistani batter to be timed out in a professional match, during the President’s Trophy final against PTV. The incident occurred on the second day of the match, when Shakeel, representing the State Bank of Pakistan, failed to arrive at the crease in time after two quick wickets fell. His delay resulted in the umpires declaring him timed out, a dismissal that is rarely seen in professional cricket.
He rushed out of the dugout following the dismissals of Umar Amin and Fawad Alam, who were out on consecutive deliveries. Pacer Muhammad Shahzad claimed the wicket of Umar Amin, who scored six runs, while Fawad Alam was dismissed for a golden duck.
Shakeel was declared timed out, as he arrived late to the crease with pacer Muhammad Shahzad on a hat-trick. PTV captain Amad Butt appealed for the time-out, and the umpire ruled in favour, marking his late arrival.

After the dismissal, Shahzad completed his hat-trick by bowling Irfan Khan on the very next ball. After this, the SBP plummet from a solid 128 for 1 to a staggering 128 for 5 in just three deliveries.
The SBP was bowled out for 205 in their first innings, with Imran Butt being the standout performer, scoring 89 off 136 balls.
