Pakistani-American surgeon launches UAE’s first AI clinical platform
Pakistani-American surgeon Dr Adil Haider launches UAE’s first AI clinical platform, Amal, transforming healthcare for patients and doctors alike.
UAE – (Web Desk) – Boston Health AI, a health technology company founded by Pakistani-American surgeon and global health expert Dr Adil Haider, has partnered with Emirates Health Services (EHS) to introduce “Amal,” the UAE’s first clinical intelligence platform, across the country’s public healthcare system.
The platform was officially unveiled at World Health Expo (WHX) Dubai 2026, one of the world’s largest healthcare events, attracting more than 400,000 participants from across the globe. Visitors from over 40 countries stopped by the EHS pavilion to meet Dr Haider and the Boston Health AI leadership team, showing strong interest in Amal and the advanced clinical intelligence technology behind it.
Dr Haider brings decades of international experience in academic medicine and health system innovation. He previously served as Dean of Aga Khan University Medical College, where he led major institutional growth and achieved global accreditation milestones. His career also includes senior academic roles at Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins University. Currently, he serves as the Inaugural Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine in the United States, overseeing the responsible use of AI in medical education and clinical care.
Amal is the first AI-powered physician assistant deployed within the UAE’s public healthcare network. The system conducts detailed, physician-level medical interviews with patients before consultations, collecting information on symptoms, medical history, medications, allergies, and other relevant health details in Arabic, English, or Urdu. This data is then converted into structured clinical summaries, allowing doctors to begin appointments with a clear and complete understanding of each patient’s condition.
The rollout of Amal aims to tackle a growing global challenge in healthcare — the increasing administrative and cognitive burden on clinicians. By improving documentation accuracy, streamlining workflows, and enhancing visit preparation, the platform supports better clinical decisions while boosting efficiency and physician satisfaction.
While the UAE launch represents a major regional achievement, Boston Health AI’s journey and real-world testing began in Pakistan, laying the foundation for its international expansion.

Since its inception, the company has deployed its clinical intelligence platform across two major cities in Pakistan, supporting more than 50 healthcare facilities ranging from charitable hospitals and community clinics to leading academic medical centers and private healthcare providers.
To date, the platform has facilitated over 30,000 patient interactions in Pakistan alone, making the country a critical proving ground for scalable, multilingual, culturally adaptable clinical AI.
Beyond technology deployment, Boston Health AI has also built a significant operational presence in Pakistan, employing nearly 100 professionals from different fields. The team includes physicians, developers, AI specialists, product managers, and business development professionals, reflecting a deliberate strategy to build healthcare AI talent within Pakistan while serving global markets.
Beyond Remittances: The Strategic Pivot in Pakistan-UAE Relations
Boston Health AI’s core platform, Hami, powers Amal and was developed with direct input from practising physicians working across Pakistan, the GCC, and the United States. Built by clinicians for clinicians, the technology reflects real-world workflows and emphasises responsible, secure, and human-centred AI integration.
Founded in 2024, the company operates across the US, GCC region, and Pakistan, reflecting Dr Haider’s commitment to building globally relevant but locally adaptable healthcare technology.
