Muneeba Ali’s Unbeaten Century Powers Pakistan Women to Victory Over Ireland

Dublin, August 10 – Pakistan Women’s cricket team clinched an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Ireland Women in the third and final T20 International of the series, thanks to a magnificent unbeaten century by opener Muneeba Ali.

Batting first after winning the toss at Dublin, Ireland Women posted 155/4 in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Pakistan chased down the target comfortably in 17.4 overs, finishing at 156/2.

The star of the match was Muneeba Ali, who smashed her second T20I century, scoring 100 not out off 68 balls, including 14 fours and one six. She opened the innings with an explosive start, hitting three boundaries in the first three deliveries, and anchored the chase with brilliance.

Pakistan lost openers Shawaal Zulfiqar (3) and Natalia Pervaiz (9) early, but Muneeba found a strong partner in Aliya Riaz, who contributed a solid 39 not out off 31 balls, including five fours. The pair added an unbeaten 101-run stand for the third wicket, guiding Pakistan to victory.

Earlier, Ireland’s innings was built on a solid opening partnership of 52 runs between captain Gaby Lewis (36 off 30) and Amy Hunter (29 off 26). However, regular strikes by Pakistan bowlers kept the Irish side in check.

Orla Prendergast stood out with a brilliant 64 not out off 43 deliveries, including 8 fours, marking her ninth career T20I half-century and second in this series.

For Pakistan, Rameen Shamim, Waheeda Akhtar, Sadia Iqbal, and Fatima Sana each claimed a wicket to restrict Ireland to a competitive yet chaseable total.

Despite the win, Ireland sealed the three-match series 2-1, having won the first T20I by 11 runs and the second by 4 wickets.

Muneeba Ali’s century, a display of class and aggression, not only earned her the Player of the Match but also ensured Pakistan ended the series on a high note.
