Pakistan Wins ODI Series by Defeating South Africa in 3rd Match

This win marked an impressive comeback for Pakistan, giving them the series win at home.

Faisalabad: Pakistan secured the ODI series victory against South Africa by winning the third and final match with a 7-wicket margin, taking the series 2-1.

The match, played at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, saw Pakistan chase down the target of 144 runs in 25.1 overs while losing just 3 wickets. Saeem Ayub starred for Pakistan, scoring a brilliant 77 runs. Captain Babar Azam contributed 27 runs, while Fakhar Zaman was dismissed without scoring. Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 32, and Agha Salman added 5 runs not out.

For South Africa, Kwandwe de Kock and Jurrion Fortin each took one wicket.

Earlier, South Africa batted first after winning the toss and managed 143 runs in 37.5 overs. Quinton de Kock led the innings with 53 runs, followed by Lwandile Pretorius with 39. Other contributors included Nkabomzi Pater 16, captain Mathew Breetz 16, Donovan Ferreira 7, Jurrion Fortin 3, Tony de Zorzi 2, and Robin Hermann 1. Corbin Bosch and Lungi Ngidi were dismissed for zero. Nandre Burger remained unbeaten on 3.

Pakistan’s pacer Abrar Ahmed was the star of the bowling attack, taking 4 wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Afridi, and Salman Agha took 2 wickets each.
