Doha – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has issued a strong warning against any violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty, stating that the country possesses strong armed forces and modern weapons and will not allow anyone to breach its territorial integrity.
In an interview with Arab media, Dar expressed deep concern over the recent Israeli airstrike on Qatar, calling it “unacceptable” and a blatant attack on a sovereign nation. He revealed that Pakistan, in coordination with Somalia, has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to address the escalation.
He further stated, “Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, Syria, and now Qatar are unjustifiable. Mere condemnation is no longer enough — the world must now adopt a clear and unified course of action.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is also in Doha, met with the Emir of Qatar and expressed full solidarity.
“Pakistan stands with Qatar in these difficult times,” the Prime Minister assured during the meeting.
Highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Dar said, “The people of Gaza are suffering immensely. It is time to ensure an unconditional ceasefire. The world must now take effective steps to restrain Israel.”
In a sharp message to India, the Deputy PM addressed growing tensions over the Indus Waters Treaty, stating:
“Future wars will be fought over water. India cannot unilaterally suspend or revoke the Indus Waters Treaty. If it attempts to block Pakistan’s water, we will treat it as an act of war.”
Dar also reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness for dialogue with India on all issues, including Kashmir, but condemned India’s ongoing accusations against Pakistan regarding terrorism.
“Pakistan has made the greatest sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, and for India — a nation that has suffered far less — to level such allegations is both misleading and unacceptable,” he added.
He concluded by emphasizing that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation, committed to resolving disputes through dialogue, but fully prepared to defend itself if its sovereignty is challenged.
